Listed below are just a few of the many activities available in the area.  You can also find great fishing, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, snowmobiling, boating,  windsurfing.  Hey, there's even ice fishing at Fish Lake just a short distance from Lake Wenatchee.  

Rafting & Kayaking

Spring means white-water river rafting and kayaking on the Wenatchee River. The whitewater season generally lasts from April through July; but the river is  great for relaxing trips from April until October. Several rafting companies with qualified guides foroffer half-day and full day trips. Get ready to get wet!!! Lake Wentachee and the rivers which feed it (the Little Wenatchee and the White River) are great for kayak excursions until October or so.
 

Golf

Perhaps golf is your game.  You will find 2 great courses only a short drive away.  In Leavenworth you can also play a Championship putting course.

 

Rock Climbing
The Upper Valley has perhaps some of the most diverse climbing in Washington...from sandstone to sheer faces of granite, and climbs fro beginning to advanced.  The Leavenworth Ranger Station has maps and dozens of climbs in the area. Permits may be required so be sure to check.  Always climb with a partner and beginners should always climb with an experienced climber.

 

Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding

Winter brings some of the best skiing in the state of Washington.  Within easy reach from the Bavarian Chalet Lakeshore Pines Cabin are two of the top downhill ski areas in Stevens Pass and Mission Ridge.  Great snowboarding and family
 

Cross-country skiing
In Leavenworth you will find over 24 kilometers of groomed trails.  The Leavenworth Sports Club grooms three cross-country area in Leavenworth allowing skiers to enjoy some outdoor adventure and breath-taking views. Each trail has its own personality and are fit for beginners to more advanced skiers.  

If you want to stay closer to "home", the Kahler Glen Golf Course offers miles of groomed trails and is only 4 miles away. If you want to just head into the hills, you can head up either the Little Wenatchee River Road or the White River Road on your skiis or snowshoes.
 

Mountain Biking & Bicycling

There are many areas in and around the Upper Valley for mountain biking. The Devils Gulch road less wilderness area offers excellent mountain biking.  The trails have been featured in many outdoor and mountain biking magazines and attract visitors from around the United States and Canada.  Make sure to contact the Leavenworth Lake Wenatchee Ranger Station, just minutes from the cabin, for information about trails and permits. for permit information.

The mountain scenery in the area provides an excellent backdrop for a day of cycling whether you're in for a full day or a just a quick jaunt. There is an excellent loop around the Leavenworth Valley that is pleasant and easy on the biker.  Or you can bike the perimeter of Lake Wenatchee or into Plain for a latte at Plain Hardware, a unique country store that carries crafts and clothes as well as hardware.
